Thames Water Bio-Recycling is the UK's largest recycler of biosolids, processing over 750,000 tonnes annually. We are seeking a dedicated Agricultural Recycling Manager to oversee biosolids recycling operations in Essex, managing safety, efficiency, and stakeholder relationships within a defined geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a dispersed technical team to meet performance targets.
  • Ensure a safe working environment adhering to HR policies and safety standards.
  • Build relationships with farmers, landowners, and rural communities to promote biosolids use as fertilizer.
  • Coordinate with environmental agencies and local communities to minimize environmental impact.
  • Manage land sourcing, contract performance, and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee the sales process, including land suitability assessments, soil sampling, and permit management.
  • Develop procedures to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and maintain 100% statutory compliance.
  • Plan strategically to manage workflow and financial controls.

This is a field-based role covering Essex, working 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A valid driver’s license and company vehicle are provided.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Background in agriculture with rural practice knowledge; sales experience in biosolids management is preferred.
  • Ability to confidently communicate with farmers and industry professionals.
  • Organized, adaptable, and self-managing.
  • Knowledge of agricultural legislation, such as the Nitrates Directive and Cross-Compliance; FACTS or BASIS training is advantageous.
