Our expertise is delivered through three core divisions: Performance, Web & eCommerce, and Intelligence – all working closely together to create impact across channels.

The Director of eCommerce is the senior Shopify authority within the Web Division, responsible for how Shopify is delivered, scaled and evolved across the group. Pragmatic, delivery‑focused and commercially aware, they are a strong communicator who can influence and align teams, build trust quickly with clients and internal stakeholders, and remain curious and proactive about platform evolution.

The role ensures Shopify solutions are architected and delivered to a consistently high standard, translating platform capability into clear, practical advantage for clients. Working closely with Client Services, PM, UX and Engineering, this role bridges platform expertise and execution to drive long‑term client success.

Key responsibilities
  • Own the quality, scalability and consistency of Shopify and Shopify Plus delivery across the group.
  • Define and maintain best practice standards, architecture patterns and implementation approaches.
  • Provide senior oversight on key Shopify decisions, ensuring solutions balance speed, cost and long‑term value.
  • Support delivery teams in making confident, well‑informed platform decisions.
  • Maintain deep expertise in the Shopify platform and wider ecosystem.
  • Translate platform developments and opportunities into clear actions for clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure Shopify capability is actively leveraged to improve client performance and future readiness.
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with Shopify.

  • Clients view IDHL as a long‑term ecommerce partner, not just an implementation provider.
  • Strong client advocacy, retention and high‑quality case studies.
  • Delivery teams operate with confidence, clarity and consistency.
  • Shopify capability is actively used to drive client advantage.
Skills & experience
  • Strong experience delivering Shopify and Shopify Plus solutions.
