Your role as Account Manager:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day client relationship, serving as the key point of contact between our client partners and our agency. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our client partners, understanding their needs and objectives, and working closely with our internal teams to deliver exceptional results that exceed their expectations.
- Client Relationship Management
- Manage the day-to-day client partner relationship through effective communication, problem solving and responding to requests in a timely manner.
- Act as the primary point of contact between our client partners and our agency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our client partners, becoming a trusted member of their extended team.
- Provide regular communication, both in-person and online, to ensure that the client partners' needs and objectives are being met, and that they are satisfied with our work and exceeding expectations.
- Keep the client up-to-date with insightful industry and product knowledge.
- Project Management & Team Collaboration
- Manage a diverse range of projects, campaigns and on-going retainers, including responsibility for timelines, budgets, and deliverables, communicating and seeking approval of any changes to these.
- Communicate and coordinate activities with the digital, marketing, social and PR teams, ensuring that everyone is working towards the same goals.
- Keep internal project management systems up-to-date and ensure projects and tasks are delivered on time.
- Take client briefs and help shape creative and thorough internal briefs or user stories for the agency’s teams.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure all work is delivered with a creative approach and to the highest possible standard and to agreed KPIs.
- Analyse campaign performance to optimise results.
- Strategy Guidance
- Work with our clients to understand their business goals and objectives, contributing to the development of strategies that align with those objectives.
- Collaborate with the internal teams to develop effective marketing plans and roadmaps including conducting research and analysing data.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s market environment.
- Reporting
- Work with internal teams to ensure campaign performance reporting and presentation of results is delivered in a clear and concise manner.
- Agree key performance indicators, develop reports, and provide insights and contribute to recommendations for future campaigns.
- Organise and run meetings, setting agendas to ensure things run to plan.
- Provide meeting summaries/notes to client partners following meetings so decisions and next actions are recorded.
- Financial Management
- Efficient approach meeting agreed budget targets and delivering growth and retained margins, which are agreed with the management teams.
- Develop proposals and estimates to ensure we charge clients accurately, maintaining projections and updating finance systems as required.
- Identify ways to grow client accounts through new business opportunities and market research.
- Other responsibilities
- Undertake continuing professional development and mandatory training, to ensure you keep your knowledge, expertise and experience up to date.
- To present and promote a professional public image in representing the agency.
- Oversee and mentor the work and performance of junior team members e.g. Account Executive.
- To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required, appropriate with the post.
- You may be expected to participate in events and promotions where the team requires representation; sometimes helping out with the organisation of the events upfront. Some of these may be outside of your normal working hours.
- Participation in the Agency Appraisal Scheme and undertaking any professional development as identified with your line manager.
- To adhere to the company handbook and comply with relevant legislation.
- Experience & Knowledge
- Essential: Previous agency or marketing experience operating at a similar level, overseeing campaigns and projects. A good understanding of brand, marketing and digital disciplines. Good working knowledge of industry best-practice and emerging trends/technologies.
- Desirable: Familiarity with MS Office and various business software e.g. CRM systems. Experience of using Website CMS systems i.e. WordPress, Epi Server, Kontent etc.
- Skills & Abilities
- Personable and able to work effectively with a variety of different people at all levels.
- Work well under pressure, being flexible where you need to, but always staying focussed and positive about the end goal.
- Organised, with a strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to review work with a critical eye and provide constructive feedback when required.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Persuasive, able to sell work and ideas, and respond positively and timely to feedback.
- Care about delivering great work, be willing to go above and beyond.
- Able to juggle competing demands across multiple clients, remaining resilient and positive in difficult situations.
- Good level of understanding of Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta Suite.
- Experience of using project management tools such as Monday.com and MS DevOps.
