At IDHL, we’re more than a digital agency; we’re a strategic partner to ambitious brands, helping them accelerate growth in the digital economy. Our expertise is delivered through three core divisions: Performance, Web & eCommerce, and Intelligence – all working closely together to create impact across channels.

Your role as Shopify Graduate Developer:

As a Developer, you will contribute to building and maintaining solutions on our eCommerce and Content platforms. Working under the guidance of senior developers, you will help implement custom functionality, integrate third-party systems, and ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, and performant. You will assist our clients by responding to tickets via our Support Desk. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your skills in backend development, database design, and modern eCommerce architecture while collaborating in an agile team environment.

What we’d like you to bring to the role:

  • Technical excellence: Write clean, well-documented code that follows agreed standards and specifications. Debug platform issues with guidance and contribute to ongoing Support Desk work. Experience using Git and willingness to learn project tracking tools such as JIRA. Familiarity with modern front-end build tools (e.g. webpack, gulp, yarn, grunt). Understanding of Liquid syntax, OOP principles, and Shopify theme architecture. Knowledge of Shopify metafields, metaobjects, and Markets configuration. Basic experience with Shopify GraphQL Admin and Storefront APIs. Exposure to headless concepts using Hydrogen/Oxygen or other React-based solutions. Willingness to learn Shopify checkout customisation, app development, and pursue Shopify certifications.
  • Programming & Performance: Apply OOP best practices and understand MVC and client–server architecture. Write reusable, maintainable JavaScript and TypeScript for standard and advanced features. Awareness of performance best practices, including Google Lighthouse metrics. Willingness to learn performance-focused coding and system architecture patterns.
  • Database & DevOps: Willingness to learn database management and manipulation via code. Understanding of Git workflows (branches, pull requests, merges). Comfortable working in local development environments and using basic terminal commands. Willingness to learn deployment processes, build pipelines, and containerisation tools such as Docker.
  • Team & Communication: Collaborate effectively with developers, project managers, and account managers. Communicate progress, blockers, and updates clearly to internal teams and clients. Proactively seek guidance and take ownership of personal learning. Deliver consistently high levels of customer service.
  • Ownership & Delivery: Take responsibility for your work, meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Accurately track time and contribute to task estimation and prioritisation. Support SLA commitments through proactive, reliable delivery. Own your professional development by setting and communicating clear progression goals.
