IDEXX Laboratories is seeking a Pathology Operations Coordinator to support our UK & European Pathology departments. The role involves supplying the pathology team with digital images for diagnostic purposes, generated from all UK & European laboratories, and maximizing the efficiency of the UK & European Pathology team. You will assist in resolving problems and queries from pathology teams to ensure smooth workflow throughout the day. The position's main responsibility is to ensure accuracy and timely assignment of work, supporting the Pathology Operations team in managing a busy department.

In this role, you will:

  • Load digital scanners for distributing work to the Pathology team and file slides returned from offsite pathologists.
  • Assist with the archiving system of slides.
  • Handle client queries promptly and communicate effectively with Pathologists and laboratory staff.
  • Manage packing and shipping of cytology samples to off-site Pathologists, and maintain cleanliness of the scanner room and scanners.
  • Assist with metrics and logging caseloads.
  • Monitor query lists for the pathology team and troubleshoot non-straightforward queries.

Qualifications and skills needed:

  • Ability to manage a high workload and handle internal and external customer queries, troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent; a science or laboratory background is preferred but not essential.
  • Effective team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and multitasking ability to handle diverse customers/clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Confident, organized, methodical, with strong attention to detail.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, shifts from 8am-4:30pm or 9am-5:30pm, with occasional evening shifts for cover.
  • Participation in Saturday shifts, not more than once in five weeks.
  • Reliable attendance is essential.
