As aClinicalPathologist, the majority of your duties involve but are not limited to, providing clients withdiagnostic evaluationin the area ofclinical pathologyand providing necessary follow-up consultation. A high level of importance is placed on quality, timeliness, customer service, and effective verbal, written, and interpersonalcommunication skills.
This role is hybrid, working 1 or 2 days a week onsite in our Wetherby, UK laboratory.
In This Role:
You are responsible for gross and/ormicroscopicexamination ofclinical pathologyspecimens and preparation ofpathologyreportsin a timely manner.
You will meet caseload and turnaround expectations.
You are responsible for providing telephoneconsultationsto clients.
You consult with and assist other pathologists as needed to promote collegiality.
You will partner with, advise, and assist laboratory personnel in properspecimen processingtechniques and function as the pathologist on duty.
You promote the growth of IDEXX by actively participating in pathologist meetings and developing and maintaining professionalrelationships/contactwith clients.
You participate in thequality controlprograms.
You maintain proficiency and develop diagnostic skills through regularcontinuing education.
Time may be provided off of routine diagnostic responsibilities to allow the pathologist to engage in other professional activities as approved bymanagement. Such activities should improve the function or professional reputation of IDEXX.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
You arefluent in English
You are familiar with current topics and issues inclinicalveterinary medicine.
You can type and use dictation equipment.
You have excellent verbal andcommunication skills.
You have a service-oriented attitude.
You can organize and prioritize work.
Computerskills are required.
Experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory is preferred.
Ability to work on-site at the Wetherby Lab at least 1 day per week.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Board certification inclinical pathology- American College ofVeterinary Pathology(ACVP) or European College of VeterinaryClinical Pathology(ECVCP) preferred.
Applications from board-eligible pathologists are also encouraged. The candidate will be supported when studying for boards.
