The Engineering team at Viking Pump Hygienic Ltd., a unit of IDEX Corporation, seeks a contractor to work within our Engineering Department in Eastbourne, England. The contractor will participate in design projects to support Viking Pump Hygienic business.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Engineering admin: BOMs and GAs – post-initial training
- Post-NCR drawing assessment & updates
- Supplier requests drawing updates
- New material drawing requests
- Material approvals (e.g. elastomer grade substitution)
- Online / Duralobe EOL new aftermarket kit drawings
- TSM update – narrower scope offering post-LTB new kit JDE set-ups
- New kits obsoleting existing PN’s no longer supported
- Process to obsolete pump PNs post-LTB
- ISO audit follow up
- Work instruction aesthetic updates
- Additional scope to close needs an engineer
- Other duties
- Participate on cross-functional project teams
- Support Value Engineering & derivative product projects
- Create and update models and drawings in SolidWorks
- Maintain part numbers and bills of material in ERP system
- Other engineering projects as assigned
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Qualified in Mechanical engineering, HNC or above
- Experience managing drawings with standard BS 8888
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Numerical and accuracy driven
Equipment / Tools
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- CAD training with SolidWorks experience is a plus.
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to commute to the manufacturing complex
- Writing by hand and keyboard, perform general office functions
- Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use
