SCOPE OF ROLE: The Sales Director is responsible for driving sustainable, profitable sales growth in the assigned region. The role can be remote/home-based within the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership presence across Life Science Fluidics and Optics.
  • Build an agile team by attracting, coaching, developing and retaining talented team members who deliver exceptional Sales results.
  • Develop and execute a revenue growth plan for his/her assigned region while effectively managing expenses.
  • Implement consistent Sales process and rigor focused on growing the core business while identifying and capturing share gain opportunities.
  • Ensure the Sales team utilizes the Customer Relationship Management tool for accurate recording of all critical customer information including timely forecasts.
  • Partner with Global Account Managers and Key Account Managers to build and strengthen key customer relationships by expanding our network of connections and collaborating with customers to develop solutions.
  • Where possible, utilize Operational Excellence programs to leverage LEAN / VAVE activities to unlock value for both companies.
  • Visit customers and make joint Sales visits with team members a minimum of 50%.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA required, preferably in the Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, or Engineering. Advanced technical or business degree preferred.
  • A minimum 8 years of progressive experience and responsibility in sales, marketing and/or product management within the analytical instrument, IVD/Biotech instruments/systems, or life sciences laboratory market segment with proven success in assigned region.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years as a Sales Manager of a multi-national technology company responsible for international Sales team.
  • Excellent customer and internal stakeholder relationship skills and a proven track record of results with increasing annual sales, managing complex multi-level business-to-business contract negotiations.
  • Proven experience identifying rapid changes and trends within the Analytical, IVD, Biotech or Laboratory industry.
  • Proven experience defining, developing, executing and negotiating multi-million dollar, multi-year contracts with large multi-national companies.
