The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Purpose
Working closely with advisers with complex advice cases and support the wider support team with technical queries, training and client queries and support.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and write advice reports covering a broad range of financial planning topics including pensions, offshore bonds, and specialist tax-efficient investments such as Business Relief, EIS and VCTs.
  2. Technical research and analysis of clients\’ existing products and investments, with findings to be presented in a detailed advice report.
  3. Work collaboratively with the financial planners to create bespoke planning solutions for new and existing clients.
  4. Discuss client objectives with financial planners, identifying where further necessary client information is required, to prepare robust advice reports.
  5. Draft research documents to explain complex technical issues in a simple manner.
  6. Assist in compiling financial planning and investment proposals, taking responsibility for any additional bespoke work being proposed such as cash-flow modelling.
  7. Work alongside the support team to provide technical assistance relevant to any new business or servicing of existing clients.
  8. Assist in the training and mentoring of paraplanners and graduates.
  9. Liaise with third-party stakeholders such as accountants, lawyers, and service providers where relevant to provide/obtain information for mutual clients.

Knowledge

  1. Experience in a Paraplanning role or equivalent.
  2. Experience of Defined Benefit Pension advice.
  3. Understanding of the annual FCA ongoing suitability process and experience providing support.
  4. Knowledge of Xplan (or similar practice management systems) would be beneficial.
  5. Proficient in Selectapension, Cashflow Modelling (preferably Fincalc), FE Analytics.
  6. Good working knowledge of all Microsoft office applications specifically Excel.

Qualifications

  1. Must have attained minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (or equivalent) with desire to achieve Level 6 and Chartered status.
