Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your existing claims skills into a more strategic leadership capacity. The Edinburgh insurance team has provided risk and insurance advice to commercial clients for over 30 years, building a reputation as a client-led, ethical group of professionals. Core to their approach is a robust in-house claims team that manages all aspects of day-to-day claims for the client portfolio.
Based in Edinburgh with hybrid working available, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office per week. Salary is up to £43, depending on your level of experience and technical skill in claims.
Responsibilities
- Handle commercial, property and bespoke high-net-worth (HNW) claims for clients, liaising with external parties as needed.
- Manage the caseload as the number 2 in claims; work with the Head of Claims on more strategic and managerial tasks.
- Be prepared to take over responsibility for the full claims function following the planned retirement of the current Head of Claims.
- Receive hands-on mentoring, training and support to progress from senior to leadership level.
- Involve yourself in claims analysis, settlement negotiations and day-to-day claims management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Background in commercial claims from adjusting, broking or insurer environments.
- Demonstrated drive to progress into leadership roles.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate with internal teams and external parties.
