A specialist insurance broker is looking to appoint a Secondaries Specialist to help build and grow its capability across transactional risk insurance solutions for secondaries transactions. This is a rare opportunity for someone with strong experience in the private equity secondaries market to move into a commercial, client and market facing role, advising sponsors, secondary funds, continuation vehicle investors, GPs, LPs and other private capital clients on transactional risk insurance solutions.

The role would suit someone currently working in secondaries advisory, investment banking, private equity, fund finance, legal, placement advisory or a secondaries investment team who is interested in moving into a fast‑growing and increasingly sophisticated area of the insurance market.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for helping clients understand how insurance can de‑risk execution, protect downside, support pricing and unlock deal certainty across secondaries processes.
  • The role will involve advising clients on insurance solutions for secondaries transactions, supporting origination across private equity sponsors, secondary funds, advisers and law firms, and reviewing transaction materials to identify insurable risks.
  • You will work closely with underwriters to structure bespoke insurance solutions, manage deal processes from initial client discussion through to policy placement, and build market intelligence around secondaries activity, pricing trends and emerging risks.
  • You will also play an important role in shaping the firm’s go‑to‑market strategy in the secondaries space.
Qualifications

Candidates will have a strong understanding of the private capital secondaries market and the commercial dynamics behind GP‑led and LP‑led transactions. Prior insurance experience is not required, as full support and training will be provided. What matters is your credibility with private capital clients, your understanding of secondaries transactions and your ability to operate in a commercial, advisory environment.

You may come from secondaries advisory, private equity secondaries investing, investment banking, M&A, fund placement, private capital advisory, transactional legal advisory, fund finance, private capital consulting or strategy. You should bring strong knowledge of secondaries transaction structures, excellent commercial judgement, confidence engaging with sophisticated financial sponsor clients, strong analytical and written skills, and the ability to manage complex processes and multiple stakeholders.

Why Join

This is an opportunity to move into a niche, high‑growth market where your secondaries expertise will be genuinely valued. You will be joining a platform with strong relationships across private capital and a clear appetite to grow its secondaries insurance offering, with significant scope to build a personal market profile, develop deep client relationships and become a recognised specialist in an emerging area of transactional risk.

For someone who understands secondaries but wants a more entrepreneurial, client‑facing and commercially varied role, this is a compelling move.
