The Opportunity

As Commercial Director, you'll take ownership of the performance, culture and growth of the Scottish region, leading a team of approximately eight Account Executives and Account Directors.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for developing your people, driving commercial performance and embedding a consistent, market-leading client service proposition across the region.

You'll balance operational leadership with strategic thinking, ensuring your team has everything they need to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients while supporting the wider growth ambitions of the business.

This is a modern leadership role, far removed from the traditional branch management position.

Whilst having an existing portfolio of clients would be advantageous, it isn't essential.

Your success will be measured by the strength of your leadership, your ability to develop others and the commercial performance of your region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of approximately eight Account Executives and Account Directors.
  • Drive commercial growth through effective leadership, coaching and performance management.
  • Create a high-performance culture built around accountability, collaboration and client excellence.
  • Embed the firm's client service and stewardship model across the region.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen market presence.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to deliver regional business plans and develop future talent.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships to enhance the reputation of the business.
  • Maintain a small portfolio of strategic client relationships where appropriate, although this is not essential.

About You

You'll already be operating within commercial insurance in a senior leadership role, perhaps as a Commercial Director, Branch Director, Regional Director or Head of Office.

You’ll have a proven track record of leading experienced client-facing teams, developing talent and delivering commercial success.

You'll understand how to balance operational excellence with people leadership and know how to create an environment where high performers can thrive.

Whether you currently manage a client portfolio or have moved away from one entirely, your ability to influence, inspire and lead will be what sets you apart.
