The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Construction Lawyer to join the dynamic and growing Clean Energy & Renewables team of a leading law firm. This role is ideal for an experienced Solicitor with at least 5 years\' PQE in construction, commercial, or projects law, particularly those with experience or a strong interest in clean energy workstreams.

As a Construction Lawyer in this thriving team, you will:

  1. Lead and support transactions in the clean energy sector, drafting and negotiating key construction contracts (bespoke, FIDIC, and MF/1 forms).
  2. Advise on BESS/Solar Supply Agreements, EPC contracts, O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements, and LTSA (Long-Term Service Agreement) contracts.
  3. Handle component warranties, clean energy project developments, acquisitions, and disposals.
  4. Work with a high-profile client base, including world-renowned battery manufacturers and integrators, on complex transactions spanning the UK and Europe.
  5. Collaborate with a wider sector team of approximately 90 lawyers across 13 offices, covering real estate, corporate, finance, environment, planning, and dispute resolution.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  1. A minimum of 5 years\' PQE in construction, commercial, or projects law.
  2. Experience in renewables or a keen interest in transitioning into clean energy law.
  3. Strong technical skills in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including FIDIC/MF/1 forms.
  4. Familiarity with technologies such as BESS, solar PV, wind, hydro, energy-from-waste, biogas, hydrogen, EV charging infrastructure, and/or district heating (desirable).
  5. Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
  6. A proactive and innovative mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a vibrant team.
