The RoleWe are recruiting a Development Underwriter to join an established commercial P&C underwriting team, focused on generating and writing new business across an existing panel of broking partners in Scotland. This is a home-based, market-facing role with a clear new business remit. The regional book and existing broker relationships are already in place, supported by a dedicated service underwriting function - this role is not about managing that book day to day, but about actively growing it through new business production and broker development.
You will work within a defined commercial P&C product suite, with delegated underwriting authority to trade SME and mid-market risks. As the business continues its regional growth strategy, you will also be involved in the development of new agency relationships, helping to expand the broking panel alongside your new business underwriting activity.
