An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a talented Marine Insurance Associate to join a highly regarded London-based insurance practice. Our client is a leading commercial law firm with an established reputation in the insurance and reinsurance market. The team advises a broad range of international insurers, reinsurers, P&I clubs, shipowners, brokers and other market participants on complex and high-value marine insurance matters.

The Role

  • Marine insurance and reinsurance disputes
  • Coverage advice across hull, cargo, war risks and related classes
  • Policy drafting and interpretation
  • Arbitration and litigation proceedings
  • Casualty-related matters, including collisions, groundings and cargo claims
  • Cross-border and multi-jurisdictional disputes
  • Advisory and strategic risk management work for market-leading clients

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 3 and 8 years' post-qualification experience
  • Strong marine insurance and/or shipping disputes experience gained at a leading law firm or recognised specialist practice
  • Excellent technical, drafting and analytical skills
  • Experience managing matters with appropriate supervision
  • Strong client relationship and business development capabilities
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
