We are looking for an Underwriting Analyst to join a growing underwriting team within an innovative parametric insurance business specialising in flood risk. The organisation works with clients across the UK and internationally, combining deep insurance expertise with advanced analytics and technology to deliver faster, fairer, and more resilient insurance solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Underwrite new business and renewal quotes for the UK pipeline in line with service level objectives and personal underwriting authority
- Prepare submissions for referral to capacity providers
- Support business goals through involvement in new products and strategic projects
- Assist with rating single-risk locations in the US and Australia
- Liaise with UK and US distribution teams to ensure competitive pricing and optimal product solutions for clients
Skills and experience:
- Commercial experience within an insurance environment
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, and Excel
- Experience with catastrophe modelling or a strong understanding of catastrophe modelling fundamentals
- Progress towards the Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII)
Additional requirements:
- You must be authorised to work in the UK
