Our client is a leading international law firm whose London Tax team sits within the Corporate division, advising on the full breadth of corporate and commercial tax matters, both domestic and cross-border. Following sustained growth across the group, they are looking to appoint a mid-level tax associate into a practice offering genuine variety, early responsibility and a clear development path. funds, acting for investors, sponsors and management teams across all asset classes; corporate work spanning listed company mandates through to private equity; A substantial proportion of the work is done alongside other practice areas across the firm, though standalone advisory instructions are a growing part of the practice, including high-value and complex contentious tax matters. The group forms part of a wider international tax platform with capability across the US, Western Europe and Asia-Pacific, so cross-border structuring is part of the day job rather than an occasional feature of it. You will draft structure papers and complex advice notes, draft and negotiate tax provisions in SPAs and tax deeds, and advise corporate and commercial clients on tax matters in both a domestic and international context. You will run your own matters and transactions proactively, working directly with clients, counterparties and other advisers, with real emphasis placed on business development and building a network of your own. We're keen to speak with tax lawyers at 2-5 PQE, gained within an international law firm, who combine strong technical ability with a commercial mindset. You'll bring excellent drafting, legislative and case law interpretation skills, the ability to translate technical analysis into strategic advice a client can act on, and the appetite to engage with the industries and commercial pressures your clients operate under. Just as importantly, this is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys practising tax law and wants to keep doing so within a team that values technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills in equal measure. The firm offers hybrid and flexible working, international secondment and relocation opportunities across its office network, and study support for further qualifications.
