A top-tier law firm with a market-leading tax practice is looking to appoint a 1-4 PQE Associate into its Transactional Tax team.
The firm is recognised for its work advising financial sponsors, management teams, and corporates across private equity, venture, credit, infrastructure and real estate, and the tax group sits at the centre of that offering - regarded as pre-eminent in private equity transactional tax and highly active on cross-border M&A.
This is a genuinely transactional role rather than a pure structuring seat, so candidates should come with experience drafting and negotiating transaction terms and documents alongside structuring and advisory work.
The associate will advise on the tax aspects of private M&A transactions from the perspective of financial sponsors, corporate shareholders, management teams and finance providers, together with broader tax advisory work for corporate clients.
There's also exposure to financing transactions, real estate deals, restructurings, and management incentive arrangements, as well as tax advisory work on IPOs, fundraisings and capital markets transactions.
The team's work regularly crosses over with the firm's Asset Management Group and while there's no requirement to rotate, associates who want exposure to this area - or occasional client and overseas secondments - can generally be accommodated.
The firm is looking for an outstanding academic record, England & Wales qualification at 1-4 PQE (ideally gained at a City firm), and relevant transactional tax experience commensurate with level.
