Our client, a highly respected and award-winning wealth management and financial planning organisation, is seeking an experienced Team Leader - Client Administration to join their growing Leeds office. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven people leader with a strong background in client administration within financial planning, wealth management, or a regulated professional services environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading a high‑performing administration team, driving service excellence, developing colleagues, and ensuring exceptional client outcomes.
The Opportunity
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day performance of the Client Administration team, ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant, and efficient support to Financial Planners and clients. You will act as the key point of contact for your team, providing leadership, coaching, technical guidance, and ongoing development support while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional client service. Working closely with senior management, you will also contribute to operational planning, capacity management, process improvement initiatives, and team performance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Client Administrators to deliver outstanding service levels.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, appraisals, and development discussions.
- Coach, mentor, train and support team members to maximise individual and team performance.
- Identify skills gaps and work with management and Learning & Development teams to implement appropriate training plans.
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical, process, and operational queries.
- Drive a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Financial Planners and Paraplanners to ensure client documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support workload management, resource planning, and team capacity requirements.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, internal controls, and operational procedures.
- Identify, manage and report risks, errors, breaches, and process improvements.
- Communicate business updates, procedural changes, and key information effectively across the team.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within Client Administration, Financial Planning, Wealth Management, Financial Services, or a similar regulated environment.
- Proven Team Leader, Supervisory, or Management experience, with responsibility for leading and developing teams.
- Demonstrable experience conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, coaching sessions, mentoring, and structured training programmes.
- A track record of managing performance and developing high‑performing teams.
- Strong understanding of administrative processes within a regulated environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional client service and developing people.
Desirable
- Experience supporting Financial Planners, Advisers, or Wealth Management professionals.
- Degree educated or equivalent experience.
