An established and highly regarded Scottish law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its Dispute Resolution team. The firm offers a strong platform for career development within a supportive and professional environment.

This role would suit an ambitious litigation solicitor who enjoys managing a varied caseload, working with autonomy, and delivering a first-class service to a broad client base.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a diverse dispute resolution caseload, including:

  • Personal and commercial contract disputes
  • Property disputes
  • Landlord and tenant matters
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Some criminal defence work (primarily motoring offences)

You will work closely with partners while also supervising and supporting junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied litigation caseload from instruction to resolution
  • Conducting litigation in the Sheriff Court
  • Raising and defending alternative dispute resolution actions, including First Tier Tribunal proceedings and arbitrations
  • Providing training, supervision, and mentoring to trainees and junior solicitors
  • Ensuring compliance with client service standards and maintaining strong client relationships

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in general and/or commercial litigation
  • Advocacy experience in the Sheriff Court and/or First Tier Tribunal
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
