The Role
From day one, you'll be entrusted with a varied caseload of pursuer clinical negligence matters, working closely with experienced Litigators and recognised specialists in the field. You'll be involved in every stage of the claims process, from initial investigations through to settlement or court proceedings, with opportunities to appear in both the All‑Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court and the Court of Session. The work is diverse, intellectually stimulating and genuinely impactful, including:
- Delayed and missed diagnosis claims
- Surgical negligence matters
- Hospital and GP negligence cases
- Birth injury claims
- Fatal accident actions
- Complex, high‑value and sensitive medical negligence disputes
Working alongside leading experts, Counsel and senior colleagues, you'll develop your technical expertise while building strong client relationships and helping people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

About You
You will ideally have:
- 2–5 years' PQE
- Experience in clinical negligence, personal injury or a comparable litigation discipline
- Experience handling litigated matters in the Sheriff Court, ASSPIC and/or Court of Session
- Strong advocacy and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and client care abilities
- A compassionate and empathetic approach
- Strong organisational and case management skills
- The confidence to manage your own caseload while working collaboratively within a team
- A genuine interest in pursuing a long‑term career in claimant litigation
