Job Opportunity: Development Underwriter (Commercial Insurance)

A well-established and fast-growing Managing General Agent (MGA), specialising in Commercial insurance across London and regional markets, is seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Development Underwriter to join its Property and Casualty team.

This role involves underwriting new and renewal business within delegated authority levels, collaborating with brokers to grow a profitable portfolio, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Underwrite and manage a profitable portfolio in line with underwriting guidelines.
2. Develop and maintain strong broker relationships to drive retention and new business.
3. Evaluate risk and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
4. Work with internal teams to identify cross-selling and scheme opportunities.
5. Meet personal and team performance goals.

Skills and Experience Required

• Underwriting experience, preferably in a trading or development capacity.
• Strong broker network and excellent interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• A commercial mindset and the ability to work independently and proactively.
