The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanning Manager to join a successful and growing independent, employee-owned wealth management and financial planning business.
This is a key role combining team leadership, technical paraplanning and operational responsibility. You'll manage and develop a small team of Paraplanners while remaining hands‑on with complex technical cases and report writing.
You'll work closely with Financial Planners, compliance, operations and the wider management team, giving you the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the development of the paraplanning function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line manage and develop the paraplanning team, including 1-to-1s and appraisals
  • Allocate and oversee workflow, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team
  • Carry out quality assurance reviews and audits
  • Chair paraplanning team meetings and contribute to wider operations meetings
  • Work with senior management to improve processes and support business strategy
  • Liaise with compliance, Financial Planners and operations on technical and regulatory matters
  • Remain hands‑on with technical paraplanning, including client analysis, research and suitability report writing
  • Support Financial Planners with complex cases and selected client reviews
  • Keep up to date with developments across investments, pensions and financial planning

About You

We're looking for an experienced Paraplanning Manager with strong technical knowledge and proven people‑management experience.
You'll ideally have:

  • Previous paraplanning experience
  • Level 4 diploma qualified
  • Previous experience managing a team of Paraplanners
  • Strong knowledge of investments, pensions and financial planning
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a genuine interest in developing people
