This is a role for a career broker, not a job-hopper or salesperson chasing volume. An established, well-run Scottish commercial insurance brokerage is recruiting a Senior Broker following the departure of a long-serving, experienced team member.
The business operates with a small, close-knit team, extremely low turnover, and a genuinely flexible, grown-up culture. The focus of the role is client servicing and technical broking. You'll handle large and complex commercial risks, including premiums in excess of £1m, across multiple classes. Work is centred around renewals, MTAs, insurer negotiation, and problem-solving - not cold new business. Most new instructions arrive via referral and are handled collaboratively.
You’ll need:
- Commercial broking experience
- Strong relationships with regional and London markets
- Confidence negotiating with insurers
- Solid technical credibility with clients
- Acturis experience (essential)
Flexibility is real here (including compressed hours), but the expectation is that you’re experienced, reliable, and a real team player. You can be based anywhere in Scotland as the team already have several home-based employees meaning you’ll benefit from brilliant work-life balance here. There will be an expectation to attend the Fife offices a few times a month.
Longer term, there is scope for this role to grow as the wider business expands - either as a steady senior position or into a broader placement or leadership role.
Ideal start: March-May
