An elite international law firm is seeking outstanding Shipping Litigation Associates (0–8 years PQE) to join its market-leading Tier 1 Marine practice in London.
This is a rare opportunity to work with one of the world’s most prestigious shipping and international trade teams, consistently ranked top-tier for contentious marine work.
🔹 The Role
- Acting on high-value, complex disputes across the full spectrum of shipping and maritime law, including:
- Charterparty, bill of lading and COA disputes
- Shipbuilding, repair and offshore construction disputes
- Marine casualties, collisions, salvage, and limitation of liability
- P&I, H&M and war risks insurance claims
- Advising shipowners, charterers, insurers, brokers, financiers, and energy companies on some of the most significant disputes in the market.
- Working on both English High Court litigation and international arbitration (LMAA, LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL).
- Involvement in urgent crisis response matters (e.g. collisions, groundings, salvage operations), providing strategic advice under pressure.
- Opportunities to handle cross-border disputes, often with parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience in shipping litigation, international arbitration, or commercial litigation (candidates with broader disputes backgrounds and a genuine interest in maritime law are encouraged to apply).
- Strong technical legal skills, excellent drafting ability, and commercial awareness.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment and work closely with leading partners in the sector.
