Senior Associate – Projects (Oil & Gas / Energy Transition)
London | Permanent | 4+ PQE
An opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior Associate to join a highly ranked Projects practice in London. This is a rare chance to work on headline-making transactions across the UK and internationally, with a focus on oil & gas, LNG, and emerging energy transition technologies.
The Role
You’ll advise major energy companies, trading houses, financiers, governments, and new market entrants on strategic, high-value transactions. The work is broad and diverse, spanning:
- M&A, project development, and financing in the oil & gas sector
- LNG, refining, and mid/downstream matters
- Energy transition projects (hydrogen, carbon capture, sustainable aviation fuel)
- Cross-border work, particularly in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia
This role is suited to a lawyer with strong transactional experience, a sharp commercial mindset, and the confidence to take on new contractual challenges. You’ll be client-facing from day one, with the opportunity to develop your own client base and a clear pathway to Counsel or Partner.

About You
- 4+ PQE with a strong track record in transactional/project work
- Oil & gas experience (M&A, project development, financing and/or trading)
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
- Commercially aware, with strong problem-solving instincts
- Proactive in client relationship building and business development
