Commercial Insurance Development Executive
Location: Glasgow/Home based (Scotland)
Salary: To £60,000 base plus benefits and car allowance
Sales is not a dirty word anymore. The days of cold calling through a list of names every day and getting nowhere are over, thankfully. Referrals, social campaigns, relationship-led introductions, and a stream of leads supplied to you are where it’s at for the best Executives out there in broking.
You’ll be joining this independently owned insurance brokerage to convert a packed diary of appointments for SME and mid-market clients. Benefiting from an internal new business team who put up to 10 pre-qualified leads into your diary each week, your job as Development Executive is to meet them, provide clear advice, and turn them from a lead to an established client.
Behind you, you’ll have a full UK wide team of placing brokers, administration, claims, and risk advisors who take on all the back-office stuff, allowing you to focus solely on advice. To start off, you’ll have some allocated clients to give you a foundation, but most of your time is spent converting appointments, retaining the book, and also using the business development team to explore any specialisms or niches you want to execute.
You’ll be working for a large broking house here, so you’ll have access to all the markets you’ll ever need and receive ongoing support and mentoring from a Scottish leader who is one of the best Executives in the business. If you want freedom, autonomy, quality client introductions, and a platform for success, then this is it.
You’ll need to be based in Scotland and have a track record in a client-facing commercial insurance role for this one. The interview process is straightforward with an initial call on Teams with the Regional boss followed by a face-to-face meeting to explore the remit and your fit.
