A leading international Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) Insurance broker is looking to hire an M&A Associate to support its growing transactional team. This role is ideal for a candidate with 1–3 years of M&A experience who is looking to remain close to deals while moving into a commercial, client‑facing advisory role.

The Role

As an M&A Associate, you will work on a wide range of domestic and cross‑border transactions, advising private equity houses, corporates, and their legal advisers on W&I insurance solutions. You will be involved throughout the transaction lifecycle, from initial structuring through to policy placement and execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing transaction documents (SPAs, DD reports, disclosure letters)
  • Advising clients on W&I insurance structure and coverage
  • Supporting negotiations with insurers and underwriters
  • Managing multiple live transactions in a fast‑paced environment
  • Working closely with lawyers, investment professionals, and insurers across Europe

Location & Training

The role can be based in London or Berlin. Candidates based in Berlin will spend their first year working and training in London, before relocating back to Berlin. Full relocation and support will be provided for the London training period.

Candidate Profile

This role is well suited to candidates currently working in:

  • Law firms (M&A / Corporate)
  • Accountancy firms (Transaction Services / Deals)
  • Private Equity
  • Investment Banking / Corporate Finance

Requirements:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in M&A or transactional advisory
  • Strong understanding of M&A processes and deal documentation
  • Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Commercial mindset with an interest in insurance and risk transfer
  • Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously
