The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Commercial Account Executive to join our growing team in the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships while developing new business.
You'll inherit an established portfolio of commercial clients generating approximately £250,000 in annual income, providing a strong platform from day one. Your focus will be on retaining and developing this existing client base, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and generating new business to continue growing your portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop an inherited commercial insurance portfolio worth approximately £250,000 GWP/income.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular contact and proactive account management.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell additional insurance products and risk management solutions.
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, and your own business development activity.
- Work closely with internal broking and claims teams to deliver exceptional client service.
- Negotiate with insurers to obtain the best cover and terms for clients.
- Ensure all client documentation and regulatory requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain high levels of client retention while achieving growth targets.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience as a Commercial Insurance Account Executive, Development Executive, or Corporate Account Executive.
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong commercial insurance knowledge across a range of products.
- A track record of winning and retaining business.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivation and the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
- Cert CII qualification (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
