IDEX Consulting are exclusively shortlisting for an exciting opportunity for a Product Governance Manager / Lead to take ownership of 1st Line Conduct Risk, Product Governance and Consumer Duty across a Lloyd’s syndicate and delegated authority business.

Reporting directly into the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, this is a high-profile, hands-on role with significant visibility across the business. You’ll be the subject matter expert and key business partner on Product Governance, Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty and customer outcomes, working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Delegated Authority and senior leadership.

The opportunity

You’ll own and operate the 1st Line Product Governance and Conduct Risk framework, ensuring the business continues to meet its FCA and Lloyd’s obligations and, critically, delivers good customer outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.

Your remit will include:

  • Owning and enhancing the Product Governance Framework across the business
  • Leading the implementation of Consumer Duty requirements across Products & Services, Price & Value, Consumer Understanding and Consumer Support
  • Providing 1st Line challenge to Underwriting, Claims and Delegated Authority teams
  • Leading product design, approval and review processes, including event-driven reviews
  • Overseeing target market assessments, distribution strategies and fair value assessments
  • Developing and monitoring conduct risk tolerances, MI, KRIs and emerging risks
  • Leading the Product Oversight Group and providing senior-level reporting and insight
  • Owning the conduct perspective of Delegated Authority oversight, including Coverholders, MGAs and TPAs
  • Overseeing complaints governance, MI, root cause analysis and remediation
  • Using complaints and conduct data to identify systemic issues and feed insight back into product reviews
  • Preparing Consumer Duty and conduct-focused reporting for senior management and the Board
  • Supporting Lloyd’s oversight activity, FCA thematic work, regulatory change and internal audit responses
  • Developing and delivering conduct-focused training across the business

This is not a purely policy or advisory role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being close to the business, translating regulatory expectations into practical frameworks and controls, and providing credible, pragmatic challenge to 1st Line stakeholders.

What we're looking for

We're particularly interested in candidates who have experience within Lloyd’s syndicates / Managing Agents / Delegated Authority businesses, with a strong understanding of how conduct risk and product governance operate across complex distribution chains.

Experience with Coverholders, MGAs, TPAs and delegated claims arrangements would be highly desirable.

We would also consider candidates coming from a strong retail insurance conduct risk / Consumer Duty background, particularly where you have demonstrable experience owning product governance, fair value, target market assessments, complaints and customer outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Strong knowledge of FCA PROD, Consumer Duty and Lloyd’s customer requirements
  • Proven experience in Product Governance / Conduct Risk
  • Experience operating effectively within a 1st Line environment
  • Strong understanding of fair value, product reviews and distribution chains
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the confidence to challenge senior business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn conduct data and MI into meaningful actions
  • Experience with complaints oversight and root cause analysis
