We are supporting a confidential search for a London-based specialist advisory firm operating at the intersection of M&A, tax, and Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) insurance. The firm is looking to appoint an M&A Tax Associate with a strong accounting and transaction tax background to support its growing W&I-focused practice.
This role is suited to an M&A or transaction tax accountant looking to apply their technical skills in a highly deal-driven environment. You will work on UK and cross-border transactions, supporting tax analysis in the context of W&I underwriting and claims.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tax due diligence reports and identifying key tax risks relevant to M&A transactions
- Assessing the tax implications of deal structures for W&I insurance purposes
- Supporting tax-related aspects of W&I underwriting, including insurer and broker queries
- Assisting with transaction documentation and tax disclosures
- Working closely with legal advisers, insurers, and deal teams to deliver clear, commercial tax analysis
Candidate Profile
- 2–5 years’ experience in M&A tax, transaction tax, or corporate tax within an accounting firm or advisory environment
- ACA / CTA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent accounting qualification)
- Strong grounding in UK corporate tax, with exposure to deal-related tax issues
- Experience reviewing tax due diligence reports and working on live transactions
- Commercial mindset, with the ability to communicate tax issues clearly and pragmatically
- Interest in developing expertise in W&I insurance and transactional risk
