The role
This is a hands-on leadership role in the firm's commercial delivery team. You'll run your own portfolio of client accounts while overseeing, coaching and developing Junior Project Managers and Associates. A central part of the job is taking end-to-end ownership of written-lines tenders and complex renewal exercises and you'll act as a trusted point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Manage a portfolio of client engagements from project set-up through delivery, renewal and close-out, including complex and strategically important accounts
- Lead insurance tenders and renewals: set the strategy, build and run the timetable, brief Brokers and hold Brokers and insurers to account on quality and deadlines
- Review and compare Broker and insurer proposals on structure, pricing, security, service and value and turn complex market information into clear recommendations for clients
- Lead or support Broker and insurer meetings and negotiations, challenging constructively where needed
- Keep tight control of project scope, resourcing, budgets, timelines, reporting and records and flag risks early with clear recommendations
- Work closely with technical specialists so that coverage requirements and wording improvements are reflected in market activity
- Build strong client relationships, manage expectations on demanding projects and spot opportunities to expand the services you provide
- Oversee, quality-assure and coach junior colleagues, helping them take on more ownership of client and Broker work
- Build a strong network of Broker and insurer contacts and help set consistent standards across the team
What you'll bring
- Substantial experience managing insurance tenders, renewals and broker relationships, ideally in commercial insurance, broking or risk advisory
- Fluency in English and minimum of 1 other European language
- The confidence and judgement to engage with senior client stakeholders on complex accounts
- Strong project-management skills and a disciplined approach to budgets, timelines and compliance
- The ability to analyse complex proposals and present clear, decision-useful advice
- Experience of supervising, reviewing and developing junior team members
- A commercial mindset and a drive to raise standards
