Want to take ownership of your caseload and build your expertise in contentious private client work?
I'm working with an established Edinburgh law firm looking to recruit a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join its court team. This is a great opportunity for a Solicitor with a general litigation background who wants to develop their specialism in contentious private client matters, including disputes involving wills, estates, succession and inheritance.
You'll join a supportive team where you can manage your own cases, work directly with clients and play an active role in growing the department. With flexible working, a competitive package and genuine scope for progression, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
What will you be doing?
- Managing your own civil litigation caseload, with a focus on contentious private client disputes
- Advising clients on disputes involving wills, estates, succession and inheritance, alongside wider civil litigation matters
- Handling court actions, preparing legal documentation and undertaking court appearances
- Working closely with clients, Counsel and other professional Advisers
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice
Who will suit this role?
- Solicitor with experience in civil litigation
- Ideally up to 10 years' PQE, with contentious private client experience an advantage
- Confident managing a caseload independently and progressing matters with minimal supervision
- A strong communicator who can handle sensitive disputes with professionalism and empathy
- Someone proactive, commercially aware and keen to develop their expertise and career
What's in it for you?
- Competitive salary and bonus potential, depending on experience
- Flexible and agile working by agreement
- 30 days' annual leave, including public holidays
- A supportive working environment with varied, interesting work
- The opportunity to develop a contentious private client specialism and take on greater responsibility as the team grows
