We are currently representing a Purchasing Assistant role on behalf of our client who are a UK manufacturing business leading their industry and looking to grow their supply chain team as part of continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Procurement and Contracts teams with sourcing activities, raising orders, managing inventory, and maintaining effective supplier relationships.
  • Work closely with suppliers to forecast requirements and ensure inventory is planned and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and service levels.
  • Create and process purchase orders accurately, ensuring all information is correctly recorded and internal systems are kept up to date.
  • Liaise with suppliers and the warehouse team to confirm delivery schedules, resolve issues, and maintain smooth supply flow.
  • Contribute to the preparation of procurement reports, maintain order books, and monitor stock levels.
  • Track shipments and follow up to ensure goods are delivered on time.
  • Support the preparation of cost analyses and other procurement-related reporting.
Candidate Expectations
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
