Identify Talent are supporting a unique manufacturing business as they continue to grow and strengthen their Supply Chain team. We are recruiting a full-time Stock Controller to join their manufacturing site in Pocklington, near York.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Stock Controller to take ownership of inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency in a busy, batch-controlled plastics environment. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will work closely with Warehouse, Manufacturing and Supply Chain colleagues to ensure stock records in Sage 200 accurately reflect physical inventory, while improving layout, stock flow and picking efficiency across thousands of SKUs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning site stock accuracy and investigating discrepancies between system and physical stock
- Planning and delivering regular cycle counts and spot checks to reduce reliance on year-end stocktakes
- Managing locations, consolidation and stock rotation to minimise wasted space and walking time
- Ensuring full batch traceability and correct booking in/out of stock in Sage 200
- Identifying and implementing improvements to warehouse layout and stock control processes
- Working hands-on in the warehouse to embed best practice and support continuous improvement
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in a Stock Controller / Inventory Controller role within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of stock control fundamentals including cycle counting, location management and batch traceability
- Confident using ERP/MRP Systems and comfortable analysing stock data in Excel.
- Highly organised, methodical and detail-focused, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to work closely with and challenge warehouse teams constructively and ideally experience supervising teams
