A fast-growing business based near Pocklington is recruiting for a proactive and technically strong Senior Management Accountant to take ownership of the management accounts, lead product costing, and deliver high-quality commercial insight. The Role
As Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key role in shaping financial performance and supporting the next phase of growth. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing accurate, timely monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, KPIs) with strong balance sheet control.
- Managing inter-company and foreign currency transactions.
- Owning and improving product costing, including BOMs, labour, overhead absorption and material pricing.
- Partnering with Engineering, Operations and Procurement to maintain robust standard costs and ensure accurate system reflection.
- Analysing stock valuation, ageing and stock turns, highlighting risks and supporting inventory decisions.
- Supporting budgeting and re-forecasting, producing insightful commercial analysis across sales, margin, profitability and working capital KPIs.
- Providing proactive support to the Finance Director and wider operational teams, offering technical guidance where needed.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings a blend of technical strength, commercial curiosity and a practical, hands-on approach. You will have:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing and costing-focused finance role.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, variance analysis and inventory management.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, growing SME environment.
- Proficiency with accounting systems (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and the ability to work independently.
- Qualified Accountant through CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
