JOB TITLE – INTERNAL ACCOUNT MANAGER LOCATION – HULL SALARY – £40,000- £45,000 + Bonus
We are supporting a growing business at their site in Hull as they expand their trade sales function.
Due to sustained growth and internal movement, we’re recruiting an Internal Account Manager to join the Trade team.
This role sits within the Trade Sales team, working closely with Customer Excellence to make sure every customer interaction turns into a clear commercial outcome – quotes, follow‑ups, meetings or new product placements.
THE ROLE
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong B2B account management or internal sales experience who enjoys proactive, phone‑based selling into warm accounts.
You will manage a portfolio of existing trade customers, building relationships and driving increased revenue through regular, purposeful contact.
You’ll be the internal “go‑to” for your accounts – handling inbound sales enquiries, turning them into accurate quotes, and driving structured outbound activity to uncover new opportunities and keep your customers engaged.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing and growing a portfolio of existing trade accounts (retail dealers and/or care homes), focusing on revenue growth and product penetration.
- Making regular proactive outbound calls into warm accounts to share updates, discuss performance and uncover upsell/cross‑sell opportunities.
- Turning customer conversations into commercial outcomes – quotes issued, next steps agreed, meetings booked, or new products placed on display.
- Handling inbound sales‑type enquiries from trade customers, quickly understanding their needs and producing accurate, timely quotes.
- Following up on quotes and proposals, ensuring every opportunity is progressed and properly recorded.
- Updating CRM/ERP records after each interaction to maintain full visibility of pipeline, activity and opportunities.
- Working closely with Customer Excellence to ensure a smooth handover from sale to order processing and delivery.
- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This role is sales‑driven and commercially focused, with clear activity expectations and a strong emphasis on growing existing accounts rather than pure cold new business.
We’re looking for
- Experience in B2B internal sales, account management or trade customer support, ideally working with dealer/wholesale or care‑sector customers (other trade backgrounds also considered).
- Confident, professional phone manner with proven ability to lead commercial conversations and ask for the business.
- A proactive, BD‑style mindset – not just taking orders, but actively seeking out upsell, cross‑sell and growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Good organisational skills and discipline in managing calls, quotes, follow‑ups and CRM updates.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify where additional products or solutions could benefit the customer.
- Positive, driven attitude with the resilience to work to call and activity targets.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with Customer Excellence and the wider Trade team.
- REWARD & PROGRESSION
- Base salary: £40,000- £45,000 depending on experience.
- Company‑wide profit share scheme after probation.
- Clear opportunities to progress within a growing trade structure – into larger, more strategic accounts or future field‑based business development roles for those with the right drive and results.
If you have strong B2B internal sales or account management experience, enjoy proactive, phone‑based work and want to help grow a warm portfolio of trade customers, this Internal Account Manager role could be a great next step
