The Role

We are seeking a skilled Design Technician to join a growing engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the delivery of bespoke technical projects from concept through to production. This is a hands-on design role where you’ll work closely with project and manufacturing teams to develop accurate, high-quality models and drawings that support real-world fabrication and installation. You’ll play a key role in turning client specifications into practical, manufacturable solutions while maintaining high technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
  • Develop design solutions that align with project requirements and manufacturing capability
  • Prepare drawing packs for approval and production
  • Revise designs in line with feedback from internal teams and clients
  • Support manufacturing teams with clear and accurate technical documentation
  • Maintain drawing standards and version control
  • Assist with design improvements and technical problem-solving

Requirements

  • Essential: Strong SolidWorks experience (3D modelling and manufacturing drawings)
  • Experience in a design or engineering role within manufacturing or construction
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
