Working Pattern: Full-time, 4 days per week (Monday β Thursday)
Salary: Β£40,000 β Β£44,000 per annum (Dependent on experience; higher salary may be considered for the right candidate)
Role Overview: An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business based in Hull. The role will focus on producing accurate 3D designs and manufacturing drawings to support production, new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS Professional 2021) and PDM systems to create detailed manufacturing drawings and machining data
- Manage, update, and maintain existing drawings and design documentation
- Work closely with internal departments including sales and interior design to ensure designs meet customer and project specifications
- Ensure all designs comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements
- Provide technical CAD support to internal teams, primarily using SOLIDWORKS
- Support continuous improvement activities related to products and manufacturing processes
- Work alongside manufacturing teams to help identify, investigate, and resolve design-related issues
- Follow the New Product Development (NPD) process and assist with prototyping activities
- Maintain high standards of quality across both product design and manufacturing processes
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 yearsβ experience in a 3D CAD design role
- Proficient in SOLIDWORKS (or similar software such as Inventor or Pro Engineer)
- Experience or knowledge of furniture design and construction concepts is desirable
- Understanding of timber stud wall construction is advantageous
- CAD/CAM experience and program nesting knowledge would be beneficial
- Background in industries such as holiday homes, modular buildings, or similar manufacturing environments is preferred
