Are you a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) ready to step into a role with real responsibility and progression? As Accounts Senior, you’ll manage client portfolios, lead junior team members and play a key role in shaping how the finance function operates.
This hands-on Accounts Senior role blends client delivery, team leadership and operational planning. You’ll oversee day-to-day workflows, ensure high-quality outsourced finance services, and contribute to the strategic development of the function.
What You’ll Be Doing as Accounts Senior:
- Managing day-to-day accounting services for a varied client portfolio
- Leading and developing a small team of bookkeepers and trainees
- Owning workflows, task allocation and delivery timelines
- Supporting the strategic planning of the outsourced finance function
- Overseeing bookkeeping tasks including reconciliations, ledgers, invoicing and expenses
- Reviewing month-end and year-end accounts
- Reviewing and submitting VAT returns
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Confidently using a range of accounting and practice management software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS etc.
About You:
- ACA / ACCA part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified
- Strong technical grounding in bookkeeping and management accounts
- Ideally experienced within a practice environment
- Organised, proactive and confident managing multiple deadlines
- Comfortable communicating with clients and supporting junior colleagues
- Keen to learn, develop and adopt new systems and technology
Benefits:
- Salary £36,000 – £45,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
