This senior internal role is designed for someone with deep technical knowledge of Timber. Working within a close‑knit sales office, you'll act as a technical advisor and high‑value deal‑maker—managing premium trade accounts, optimising complex manufacturing enquiries and ensuring every order is delivered right‑first‑time. Main Duties
- Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high‑value trade customers, handling day‑to‑day enquiries by phone and email.
- Take ownership of the full internal sales process: technical quotations, order entry, order confirmation and post‑sale follow‑up.
- Use your specialist knowledge of Timber products to recommend suitable alternatives, upsell where appropriate and add value to each interaction.
- Produce accurate pricing and technical specifications for bespoke machining, planed goods, specialist profiles and custom treatments.
- Liaise closely with the in‑house mill, production teams, transport and external sales to coordinate complex machined orders and ensure OTIF delivery.
- Monitor open orders, proactively resolve issues and manage customer expectations with realistic lead times based on mill capacity.
- Support with pricing, raising quotes and maintaining price files in line with agreed margins.
- Provide technical support to junior sales colleagues, acting as a point of escalation for complex enquiries.

- Extensive experience in internal sales within a timber importer, processor or merchant, with strong technical understanding of European Redwood and machining profiles.
- Comfortable managing a high volume of calls, quotes and complex orders while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills—clear, confident and technically precise when advising customers across sectors such as leisure, outdoor buildings, merchants, architects and corporate buyers.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in sales, operations, logistics and mill production.
