A leading UK manufacturer is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a modern manufacturing facility in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. The role will support the maintenance and reliability of high-speed production and packaging lines, ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently in a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.
- Support installation, upgrades, and equipment overhauls during planned shutdowns and improvement projects.
- Maintain production line efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Record maintenance activities and work orders using the maintenance management system.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all work meets health & safety, COSHH, and GMP standards.
- Assist with spare parts management and equipment inspections.
- Support the wider engineering team and help mentor junior technicians when required.
- Participate in call-out or shift support where required.
Requirements
- Experience working as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer within manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or food production environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience maintaining high-speed production or packaging machinery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
Desirable
- Experience within nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing.
- Electrical qualification such as 17th/18th Edition. (Desirable but not essential)
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or capacity expansion projects.
Salary, Hours & Benefits
- Salary: £45,000 – £47,500 (depending on experience) 5% bonus
- Location: Carnaby, Bridlington
- Hours: Full-time, shift-based role supporting factory operations
- Contract: Permanent position
- Call-out rota: Participation required when scheduled
