Summary

My market leading client are looking to secure the services of a contract-based Service Designer to assist with critical project work over the coming months.

Ideally coming from a strong consultancy and GDS background, consultants will need to be able to start within 2 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end service design across complex public sector transformation programmes.
  • Apply GDS Service Standards and user-centred design principles across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live.
  • Conduct and oversee user research, ensuring insights drive service design decisions.
  • Develop service blueprints, user journeys, ecosystem maps and operating models.
  • Identify and resolve challenges across policy, process, technology and governance.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-design sessions with users, stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary agile teams, including product, delivery, policy and technical leads.
  • Support service assessments and ensure compliance with accessibility and public sector standards.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including SROs, programme boards and governance forums.
  • Mentor junior designers and promote service design capability, best practice and continuous improvement.
