Build something that transforms lives. This is a rare opportunity to step into a Director of Engineering role within a business whose work genuinely improves health, wellbeing, and quality of life. The company has grown from early stage startup to UK market leader (No1 in their category) in just a few years. While growth is accelerating, the business remains at a stage where one senior technology leader can materially shape its future, not just how systems are built, but how the mission is delivered at scale.
The Director of Engineering will take full ownership of Technology, with particular responsibility for Engineering, Data, and practical AI adoption. A core part of the mandate is helping shape an AI first way of working, identifying where AI can genuinely improve speed, quality, leverage, and decision making, and then making that real through systems, workflows, and tools that create meaningful, measurable impact.
You’ll inherit a high quality engineering team and have real autonomy to shape the organisation, whether that’s raising standards, refining structures, or growing capability across engineering and data as the business scales internationally. You’ll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership to translate company goals into clear engineering, data, and AI priorities, with a strong bias toward execution over strategy decks.
A key part of the mandate is improving engineering effectiveness, delivery predictability, and technical quality, while applying AI not just within engineering, but across systems, workflows, and decision making where it creates real commercial impact.
This role suits a senior engineering leader (Head/Director of) who is credible with engineers and commercial stakeholders alike, and who is genuinely excited by the practical potential of AI.
- Experience leading engineering teams in fast moving environments, creating clarity, pace, and accountability
- Experience bringing engineering, data, and AI together around the highest value opportunities
- A commercial, pragmatic mindset with a bias toward impact and outcomes
