Summary:
My market leading client are looking to secure the services of a contract-based Service Designer to assist with critical project work centralised around public sector services. Previous experience working in Public Sector with GDS is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage stakeholders and SMEs to understand user needs, services and processes.
- Conduct research and discovery to identify user needs and improvement opportunities.
- Map end-to-end service journeys across people, processes and technology.
- Create and maintain service blueprints and journey maps.
- Identify pain points, risks, dependencies and process inefficiencies.
- Document standard and exception user journeys.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects and Compliance specialists to align service design with requirements and governance.
- Validate assumptions through research and stakeholder engagement.
- Translate complex processes into clear service models and recommendations.
- Facilitate workshops, design sessions and stakeholder playbacks. Present findings, recommendations and key decisions.
- Contribute to project deliverables, including the Alpha Report.
- Ensure service design outputs are clear, accessible and support knowledge transfer.
Essential Experience
- Proven Service Designer experience within complex transformation, digital and technology programmes.
- Strong service mapping, journey mapping, service blueprinting and user-centred design expertise.
- Experience leading stakeholder engagement, user research and collaborative design activities.
- Ability to design services across people, processes, technology and organisational boundaries.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to identify pain points, dependencies and service improvement opportunities.
- Experience working with Business Analysts, Technical Architects, Delivery Managers and SMEs.
- Strong visual and written communication skills, simplifying complex services and processes.
- Experience working in regulated or highly governed environments.
- Knowledge of GxP, healthcare, life sciences, data governance or similar regulated sectors.
