We are currently looking for an experienced Monitoring & Observability Consultant to support a major enterprise environment on an initial 6 month contract.

Location: Hatfield, UK. Predominantly remote, however you must be available to travel to Hatfield when required.

Rate: £550/day Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Contract: ASAP start, initial 6 months

Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

This role will focus on shaping and delivering observability strategy, design, and implementation across complex enterprise platforms using modern tooling and open-source technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops and help define observability strategies and roadmaps
  • Design and implement solutions across logs, metrics, traces, and end-user monitoring
  • Work with tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Elastic, and Cribl
  • Build telemetry pipelines, dashboards, alerting, and monitoring frameworks
  • Support performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Engage with stakeholders across technical and business teams

Key Skills & Experience

  • Active SC Clearance is essential
  • Strong hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Elastic, or similar
  • Good understanding of telemetry and OpenTelemetry principles
  • Experience with scripting and automation using tools such as Python or Terraform
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work within complex enterprise environments
