We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join a growing team for a global leader in customer communications technology. This organisation provides a cloud-based platform that helps large, regulated enterprises modernise complex processes and deliver seamless, compliant, digital-first customer experiences.
As the Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in securing the company's infrastructure and data. This will include designing and deploying new systems, improving existing systems and processes, and supporting engineering, customer, and GRC teams to provide the highest quality security outcomes for our team and customers.
The role will cover the public hosted SaaS environment, private cloud hosted SaaS environment, and our corporate environment providing a broad range of technologies and experiences.
What you will be doing:
- You will work across a variety of functions, including Security Engineering, Security Operations, and Application Security, as well as public cloud hosted and private Colocation environments.
- The design and implementation of security for AWS, Azure, corporate servers, and workstations.
- Carrying out security monitoring and improving the configuration of the security monitoring tools used by Smart Communications.
- Enhancing security detection and incident response processes ranging from individual playbooks to security incident response and remediation plans.
- Managing vulnerability detection and remediation by working with systems and application owners.
- Implementing identity and access management improvements particularly focusing on privilege access management.
- Work with customer teams to communicate Smart Communications security posture to customers and prospects.
- Working with the GRC team by implementing security tools and processes used to support ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI, and other certifications held by Smart Communications.
What we are looking for:
- 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
- Good understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices, including threat detection and security incident response processes.
- Experience implementing security in AWS environments including proactive configuration of AWS accounts and assets to meet good security practices.
- Experience conducting security operations checks using security monitoring tools and responding to alerts.
- Experience with security tools such as Alert Logic, Qualys, M365 Security, and AWS Security Products.
- Understanding security compliance standards relevant to the SaaS industry, such as PCI, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST.
- An understanding of network protocols & practices, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems and WAFs.
