Hybrid: 3 days on-site (London SW1A), 2 days remote

We’re hiring an experienced Network Engineer with active SC clearance for a long-term contract supporting a high-profile programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy, security-cleared professional to work with Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, and application delivery technologies across a complex, multi-site environment.
Your Responsibilities- Design and maintain Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networks (firewalls, routers, switches)
- Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and data centre operations
- Support and configure application load balancers/reverse proxies (F5, NGINX, HAProxy)
- Implement network segmentation, zero-trust models, and secure connectivity
- Collaborate with architecture teams and lead on strategic design and delivery
- Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot network performance
- Own firmware upgrades, patching, documentation, and DR planning
- Liaise with vendors and manage escalations
- 5+ years experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networks
- In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VXLAN EVPN, ACLs, IPsec VPNs, and multicast
- Hands-on with public and private cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware NSX)
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible) and Git-based deployment workflows
- Skilled in traffic analysis, packet capture, monitoring, and performance tuning
- Strong documentation, change control, and team collaboration abilities
- Outside IR35
- Long-term contract with a strategic national project
