Material Management Manager – Bedford (hybrid) – up to £50,000 DOE
International client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Management Manager to oversee and drive the success of a specific product category. This is a dynamic role where you will be responsible for managing the complete product lifecycle from cost management, negotiation, and SAP administration to delivery and invoicing.
You will work closely with key internal teams, including Marketing, Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service, to ensure maximum efficiency and revenue generation. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing business while developing your product management expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete product cycle from product cost, potential cost negotiation depending on product category, SAP administration (including material master data), order lead-time, shipping method, local repack requirement, through to delivery and invoice to ensure maximum efficiency of fulfilment.
- Ordering and managing all locally supplied packaging components if required.
- Work closely with line manager and Group Sales Manager to maximise revenue and margin for assigned product category.
- Submit data during budgeting process.
- Ensure that product range reflects the needs of the market in pricing and product availability; devise new ideas of initiating incremental sales.
- To analyse market conditions and competition.
- Using commercial acumen and work with both Marketing & Sales to produce promotional activities within all major customers to drive business forward.
- Manage backorder allocations process as stock arrives.
- Once secured, project-manage all aspects of the product category to ensure that customer expectations are achieved within a workable timeframe.
- Manage exit from any product line carefully to minimise any potential losses.
- Keep inventory turn to target.
