IT Support Technician – Deployment Project (SC Cleared or Eligible)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Contract(Inside IR35)
Security Clearance: SC Cleared
We are currently seeking an organised and hands-on IT Support Technician to assist with a structured device deployment project at a secure defence site in Barrow-in-Furness. This role involves supporting a laptop refresh programme, managing device handovers, and ensuring accurate system updates throughout the migration process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with setting up refresh clinics to support end-user device migrations.
- Move and handle laptops and associated equipment between storage and deployment areas.
- Log into systems using preconfigured devices and carry out tasks under engineer guidance.
- Distribute new laptops to users and collect returned kit in line with the project schedule.
- Maintain accurate records by updating the contractor’s workflow system at key stages.
- Label and package returned devices according to project rules (disposal or refurbishment).
- Carry out daily manual stock checks and report to the site manager and deployment engineer.
- Secure all devices and equipment at the end of each day in line with site protocols.
- Promptly escalate any technical issues to the on-site support team.
Requirements:
- Current SC Clearance
- Experience in IT support, hardware refresh projects, or end user device deployment.
- Comfortable handling IT equipment and working in a structured, physical environment.
- Able to follow defined processes accurately and maintain clear records.
